Michele Stocknoff, LCSW, CJAS

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and earned my Master’s Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. I have advanced training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from The Institute for Psychoanalytic Education, affiliated with NYU School of Medicine. I recently became a certified for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy at Fluence. For over twenty years, I have worked as a therapist in various settings – both traditional and non-traditional – helping people to create change in their lives.

I started my career pioneering mental health programs in New York City for active drug users in syringe exchange programs. By embracing a non-judgmental stance and holding deep respect for people’s life experiences and ambivalence around change, powerful transformations occurred. Harm Reduction Psychotherapy remains the foundation of my practice today.  My style is collaborative, warm and emotion focused. I believe in creating a blended approach to best serve the needs of my client and draw heavily from psychodynamic theory, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy. It would be my privilege to be on this journey of growth and understanding with you.
